Update on our lives

I think it's time that I updated you all on what is new with Preston and I. (It might be a long one, I'm good at those) Since I know that I am just awful at keeping up with emails blogger is my new sidekick.
Ok where to start, well since Preston finished school up this year he has two jobs, one, he is a partime pastor at a local church plant we go to, it's super part time, he gets to teach twice a month. He absolutely loves teaching though and he's so good at it, you can see his passion for the Lord everytime he teaches and that is so encouraging for me as his wife. He is also doing landscaping which he's amazingly good at and he enjoys, except for that one little, "Injustice" as we like to call it named allergies!!!

I am still working at the Credit Union and I love it, I work at a smaller branch and everyone who works at this branch is a girl, yes girl power. We have so much fun together and we all get along which is like a miracle when you put a bunch of girls together! And my boss is great, which makes it even better. The only dilemma I have with this job is that it is in an office building which for some reason has a bridge connecting the building to this lovely little mall! So on our lunch breaks we wander over and often spend our paychecks....haha, no it's not that bad, but it sure is tempting!

Preston and I are getting ready to head down south to see his entire family, I can't wait as I have never been to the south nor have I met all of his extended family. We're meeting up with his parents and bro and sister there so we can spend some good quality time with them as well. I just can't wait for the time off work, as much as I love my job you can always use a break!

Prest has two fall classes left and then he will graduate! yay! He'll graduate with a BA in Bible and Theology and a B.A. in Greek, what a man! So he is even now looking for a full time job. Eventually Preston's dream is to become a professeur (did I just spell that the french way?!) or/and an author so our goal when I am done with school is to go down to southern California and go to Talbot seminary where my little genius will get his masters in Philosophy and Ethics (I'm just glad it's him and not me! haha). I am 100% fine with going south because for one I'll be close to my ever so lovely roomy Andrea! And I love, love, love the beach. I am convinced that in this city you cannot get a tan since it rains so much and when it doesn't rain I never have time to sit outside...it's a no win situation for me! When Prest is done in December I will finally start my dream and go to school for Interior Design, Lord willing. We don't want anymore student loans so we're praying that God will provide the money, he is such a good God so we'll see what he has for our future.

I think that is about all that is new with us, we're just enjoying the summer and hanging out with friends as much as possible!! Our anniversary is coming up in a week, two years has flown by! So i'll update you on that later. Oh and for any of you wondering if we're going to start the Newby clan or as Preston likes to say, "the Newby football team" (i say, ya right) anytime soon...... we're definetly not "planning" to hear any pattering feet on our floors for at least three or four more years, we're just so young and having too much fun:)
Take care

I SPY..... A NEWBY!
Wow. I can't believe I finally found you. We've been wondering about you two and what you've been up to. We knew about Multnomah... but didn't know if you were still there. It's so great to read about your lives. It seems like you've been keeping very very busy.

We are in West Texas. It's been alomst two years now. Ben is a youth pastor here and loving it to pieces. The church is great and is really taking care of us. Or should I say that God is taking care of us:) We've been married two years and two months. It's gone by so fast. No kids. We're in the same boat as you guys:) Once you have them you can't get rid of them. We see kids in the future... but just not now. BUT if for some reason my 99.99% effective birth control all of a sudden becomes not so effective... I would be thrilled. It's so awesome Preston is looking into Talbot. I was at BIOLA for two years and saw a lot of friends come through Talbot. Great stuff.

We have MySpaces... we aren't good at updating so it works better for us than Blogs.

look us up and maybe get on there!
