Our boy is one!!!

The Jakester has turned one, and has crawled into toddler hood (we're still working on the walking thing)! We are in complete awe as this past year has flown by, this time last year we were in the hospital and overwhelmed at this cute little chubby man that entered our life. We are overjoyed at how incredible having Jacob has been! He is a complete gift from the Lord and we are so thankful. I wish I could go back to each stage he was at and appreciate them more. As a first time parent you're always waiting for your child to do the "next" thing, once they roll over you're waiting for them to crawl or start solids or pull up... and you miss the times when he slept in our arms or the moment he went into the car seat his head tilted over and he was asleep. On his actual birthday (March 6th) we went as a family in the morning and bought Jake some toys and a red wagon! He laughs and laughs when we pull him around in it, so entirely worth it! In the afternoon Jake and I went with some of my friends and his "friends" ( you know the ones he is oblivious to?) to the zoo! That was great, he can actually interact on a small level with the animals. He points at every one and sais, da! It's his favorite word, and we're fine with that, as long as it's not his favorite in kindergarten! ha ha Saturday we had a party for him and that was so awesome, we were blessed with an abundance of family and friends to celebrate with! We had it at our apartment so trying to squeeze 20 people in was cozy to say the least, a very intimate birthday! I made the cake, I am proud! It didn't turn out like Dairy Queens cakes, but it's the thought that counts right? The one humorous thing about the day was that Jacob had a cold so he was a little out of sorts and we didn't get one single picture of him smiling:( When everyone sang happy birthday he just stared at everyone like we had gone mad, but was slightly intrigued! Overall it turned out to be a great day and we can hardly believe that we now have a toddler! Oh the stories that will be written this year!

I love the cake Tara!!! It's adorable. Now I need to start planning Dorey's first birthday...she's exactly one month younger than your little guy.
